Sat, 07/17/2010 - 15:49It's been hot, much too hot to spend lots of time outdoors. It's a good thing we have lots of windows and doors to observe nature from inside our nicely air conditioned home.
Last week we saw thousands of these flying around wildly. Lots of them hit the house...we were really glad we were inside during that.
They are june bugs which decided to come out in July. They've mostly calmed down now so we can venture out without getting bombed by them.
In fact, today when we were cleaning out our pools we found a little froggy in one of them.
Would you believe that this little girl loves holding it? Yup, she loves worms, bugs (except spiders and bees), and now frogs too!

These are Emily's favorite to pick because they are right at her level. Too bad she doesn't really understand the difference between green and red yet...it's a good thing we have more than enough to spare!
